Bathroom Refresh with Soak&Sleep

I am slowly trying to personalise the spaces of my rented flat (the bedroom got new bedding, the front room a rug (soon to be revealed), and tomorrow I will be going wild in IKEA! This week, however, it was time for the bathroom to get a bit of loving, thanks to Soak&Sleep who gifted me some items to make this bathroom refresh possible.

Now as far as bathrooms in rented properties go, mine is a good one, though it’s all a bit cream and beige (and I’m not a fan of that mosaic tile band running round it). But as there is nothing I can do about the tiles, I had to be content with prettying it up with accessories. Here is what I chose from Soak&Sleep:

Soak&Sleep Bathroom Accessories

Clockwise from left to right: 1. Serving Tray – Silver, 2. Relax Toiletries 3. Ultimate Supima Cotton Bath Mat, 4. Jar with Lid, 5. Luxury Jacquard Towels

Btw, don’t you just love the name Soak&Sleep? Soaking and sleeping are my absolute favourite pastimes, so an online emporium dedicated to all the things you need to make these experiences divine gets a thumbs up from me.

Now back to the bathroom …

Behind my sink is an area where I keep all my lotions and potions that are in everyday use. The fake marble surface is the same as the kitchen worktops, and this bothers me (a bit of kitchen in the bathroom), along with the fact that having a host of toiletries there just looks plain messy. So — the silver tray and mercurised pot to the rescue!

Doesn’t it look so much neater? (ok, you didn’t see it before, but you can imagine).  Somehow having all my daily toiletries contained on the tray makes all the difference.

The silver tray is so sweet, I might need another for my bedroom. I was surprised that it is really weighty and solid, great quality, and goes really well with the silvery-ness of the mercurised pot:

The pot with lid surprised me too, as it is a lot larger than I’d envisaged. I was thinking cottonbud size, but in fact it’s flannels and muslins size. I’m pleased about this, before my flannels lived under the sink, but as I use a clean one everyday for facial cleansing, it makes much more sense for them to live on the top, et voilà:

Next, in a bold (for me) move away from my all-white all-plain towels, I chose a selection of jacquard towels in lavender grey and smoke colourways, and a luxury cotton bathmat, the Ultimate Supima. Soak&Sleep don’t hold back on their description of the merits of this bathmat, and their comments include:

The super-luxury bath mat. Ever seen a sexy bath-mat? Well, get ready for a revelation. Supreme Supima is so luxurious, you’ll be serenading it while you shower.

They obviously haven’t heard my singing voice. I’ll spare the bathmat that, but do agree it is very lovely to step out onto, and it is mahoosive! The bathsheet is absolutely huge too, so no trying to get it to meet in the middle or worrying it will fall off at an inopportune moment. And isn’t there nothing nicer than having your whole body completely wrapped in the softest cotton towelling after your ablutions.

Finally, Soak&Sleep also sell a range of toiletries, and finishing off my bathroom refresh is their Body Oil and Body Cream from the Relax range, all paraben free and full of natural ingredients. The Body Oil is a bit of a misnomer, I’d have called it Bath Oil, as it is to be added to bath water rather than applied to skin (though perhaps you could do that too?), but anyway it is very lovely, and left my skin soft as a baby’s bum. I’ve not tried the Body Cream yet, but it smells wonderful and am sure it is equally as luxurious.

I’m really pleased with the look and the quality of all these items from Soak&Sleep, and they have improved the appeal of the bathroom immensely and given it some sort of overall coherence that it didn’t have before. So even if you are renting, there are changes you can make with accessories that alter the look of a room and personalise it to your taste – and for not much money. (Most of the items I have shown are currently on offer, so extra bargainlicious!)

Thanks to Soak&Sleep for allowing me to choose this selection of items to review. All words and opinions are of course mine and honest.
