CreoGlass:
Kitchen Design Inspiration

Kitchen design has come a long way from the fake granite (laminate) worktops and ceramic-tiled splashbacks of the 1990s. Unfortunately I have to live with such a kitchen for now, but this does not stop me dreaming of a sleek new kitchen design, and so I’ve been looking to CreoGlass for inspiration.
CreoGlass are a British company, based in Hertfordshire, who specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of glass splashbacks and worktops for kitchens and bathrooms. Their product list also extends to matching accessories, such as glass chopping boards and colour-matched sockets, as well as wall art, for a colourful and truly personalised design.

If, like me, you are one spray of anti-bac cleaner away from appearing on Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners, then you will appreciate the benefits of having a glass splashback or worktop. No more scrubbing the grout between tiles with bicarb, vinegar and a toothbrush, as on a smooth glass splashback those pesky germs and stubborn grease stains have nowhere to hide – just a quick wipe over and ta-dah, a nice clean and hygenic surface once again.
Just look at how gorgeous and clean this kitchen looks with its CreoGlass splashback in an aqua blue colour:

What is truly wonderful about choosing a glass splashback or worktop from CreoGlass is that you are not limited to a small range of colours – instead you have access to an enormous range, and they can colour match most colours, including top brands such as Dulux, RAL, Farrow & Ball & Laura Ashley. If you want Candy Pink, then who am I to stop you, and CreoGlass will happily oblige.

As well as a wide and glorious range of colours, you can also choose from finishes that sparkle and shimmer, as the splashbacks and worktops come in a variety of textures, mirrored surfaces, or personalised artwork and patterns. I’m particularly liking the Ice-Cracked and Italian collections, which draw inspiration from nature and give the appearance of being highly textured behind their smooth glass surface.

There is no limit to your imagination as you can also have custom printed glass panels. There are some lovely designs available in CreoGlass’ Wall Art design library, including a very nice pink Art Nouveau pattern, but I’ve been perusing my and thinking how nice some of the Bauhaus or Wiener Werkstätte designs would be for a glass splashbacks, against worktops colour matched to their base colours. I’m kitchen dreaming big time! (and don’t get me started on bathrooms …)
If you aren’t convinced by now that a glass splashback or worktop is a good idea, check out the properties against the alternatives:
“Granite stains, scratches and weighs an absolute ton. Solid wood marks and scratches easily and has to be oiled twice a year. Laminate can look cheap and is easily damaged. Stainless steel has an unappealing industrial look and scratches easily. Quartz discolours over time when exposed to sunlight, can have very obvious seams and is not as heat resistant as our glass. Marble scratches and stains.
Only toughened, scratch-proof glass avoids all of these problems, making it the most versatile, toughest, most heat resistant, cleanest, easiest to maintain and most attractive looking worktop surface on the market.”
Finally, CreoGlass have over 20 years of experience and in this time they have refined their craft so you can be sure they know what they are doing. This video shows a day in the life of the team, as they design, create and fit a kitchen splashback.
What do you think? I’ve convinced myself, have I convinced you – would you choose glass over more traditional materials for your kitchen or bathroom?

Lovely! We have a glass splashback in our kitchen and we’re really happy with it. It barely needs cleaning and makes the space look wider and cleaner visually as there are so few joins/lines breaking it up 🙂
That’s good to know Karen. I’m saving up these ideas in case I ever do have a kitchen of my own to work on 🙂

Yes to the glass! As long as someone else measures up and fits it for me!
Yes indeed – I hate measuring with a passion!

The glass splashbacks look fab and I’d definitely give them some serious consideration for a kitchen renovation.
Yes, I’d definitely consider too – I like the deep copper or bronze ones best.

Oooo, yes, I really like the idea of a glass splashback from a cleaning point of view and I love the slick lines x
Makes a lot of sense for cleaning. The only thing I noticed in the CreoGlass photos though is the glass reflects everything, so if taking photos you’d have to make sure the rest of the kitchen is tidy, haha!

We’re just designing our new kitchen and I never thought of a glass splash back, we’ve gone for tiles now but I’m envious of how easy to clean these would be! x
