Dining Table Styling with Wayfair
I was delighted to have been asked by Wayfair, ‘the online destination for all things home’, to contribute a post to their fabulous Inspiration Gallery.
I knew straight away the area I wanted to concentrate on – DIY decorations for a dining table. I was brought up (and brought my own family up) to sit at the table for dinner, and love making a table look pretty.
But I don’t believe ‘formal’ dining should be overly fussy, and so my blog post is about two simple decorations you can make for your table using herbs from your garden or windowsill.
You’ll have to pop over to Wayfair to read the full post – click the badge at the bottom of this post – but here are some photos of what I made:

Wayfair was the perfect site to collaborate with for this post, as I first came across it when looking for dining chairs. On one side of my table, against the wall, I have a church pew for seating, and was looking for chairs for the other side. I knew exactly what I wanted, but any I found that came close to my ideal were soooo expensive! How come dining chairs seem to be so dear?
I found just what I wanted on Wayfair, these linen-covered Salta Dining Chairs for less than £116 a pair – that’s at least half the price of any I have seen similar elsewhere. Here they are in situ in my front room/dining room:
In the image you will also see on the table a carafe by Sagaform. This could be used for wine or water – I’m using it for water as I find I drink lots more water (as one should) if I have it on the table in a nice carafe. This one is really beautiful, with a spherical oak stopper, and an ergonomic design that makes it a pleasure to pick up and pour from. It’s classic and timeless and yet thoroughly modern, like the best of all good design.
Do pop over to Wayfair to read my post by clicking the badge below, and from there I’m sure you will want to explore further their fabulous range of ‘over a zillion things for the home’ and other inspiring articles and home decor ideas.

Awh thank you Karen, that’s really sweet. I enjoyed making the post for Wayfair. They do a version of this carafe for red wine too which is lovely.

That’s a beautiful carafe – and far too pretty not to use. Love those napkin place name tags too #homeinterest

Thank you so much Stephanie! I agree about the carafe – I was tempted to put it away and ‘keep for good’ but haven’t been able to, so have it on the table with water in every day 🙂
