With Easter fast approaching, I’ve put together a selection of plates featuring rabbits – perfect for serving an Easter-eggy breakfast, or perhaps those little ‘eggs in nests’ cakes made with chocolate-covered shredded wheat and mini eggs.

1. Joules Hare Side Plate (ok, so it’s a hare and not a rabbit, but still perfect for Easter) – the plate I will be serving my Easter treats on.

2. Spode Delamere Rural Rabbit Side Plate A modern reinterpretation of a classic, this plate would be perfect for crustless egg and cress sandwiches (leaving room for the chocolate of course). [Edit, March 2016, sadly this now seems out of stock]

3. Rabbit Dinner Plate from Anthropologie. Rabbit stew anyone?

4. . Classic blue and white bone china, with a contemporary design and rabbit motif, just lovely.

5. Anorak Kissing Rabbits Melamine Plate. For little hands not ready to manage china, or for picnics out of doors, this melamine plate is the business.

6. Emma Bridgewater Peter Rabbit Plate. No round up of rabbit design plates would be complete without an appearance by Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit. The combination of Beatrix Potter and Emma Bridgewater makes this plate quintessentially British (doubly so!) and is bound to appeal to children and adults alike.

Which is your favourite?

Whatever plate you will be serving your eggs and soldiers on this Easter, hope you all have a lovely time, and enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend in the sunshine.
