It’s been a DIY weekend for me, a bit of a busman’s holiday! But thankfully had this great little kit from Gripit at hand, which made hanging a very heavy mirrored bathroom cabinet a breeze.

Gripit Fixings
Gripit fixings are a solution to the problem of how to fix items to plasterboard. I hadn’t thought of this when ordering a mirrored cabinet for my BF’s bathroom. His 400-year old house is made of cob and installing a bathroom meant building plasterboard partition walls. Fixing the cabinet without Gripits would have involved some serious DIY.
Everything we needed came in the Gripit kit: an assortment of fixings, measuring gauge, drill bits, and screwdriver. The Gripits reminded me of beetles, as their ‘wings’ open into the pasterboard securing the fixing tightly. This video shows how easy they are to use:

Gripits are a great invention, and you might have seen the young guy who came up with the idea on Dragon’s Den. Only 19 years old, he invented the Gripit when 13, and his assured entreprenurial pitch won him an investment of £80K from Dragon Deborah Meaden. All the more reason to have confidence in Gripit being a good product.
