Home Furnishing Sale Picks – Cushions, Lamps & Vases
There is still time to pick up some fabulous home furnishing bargains in the January sales, so I thought I’d show you what I’ve been buying, and a few items still on my wish list.
After last week’s Pantone Colour of the Year 2016 interior challenge, in which I introduced some blue and pink into my otherwise white bedroom, I have been seduced by the colour pink. This is so not me, I am not a pink girly person at all, so I don’t know what got into me, but I snapped up two of these pink velvet cushion covers in the H&M Home sale reduced from £12.99 only £5 each (and they are now down to £4!).
While I was shopping on the H&M site, I couldn’t resist another printed cotton cushion cover (that was not in the sale, but only £7.99, and here they all snuggling up together on my bed.
In case the pink phase does not last, I also bought these Triangle Grey Cushions from Living by Christiane Lemieux at House of Fraser. There is definitely a Wiener Werkstätte aesthetic about much of this range and so I have been coveting these since they were full price of £40 each, then £20, then £16, and now £11.20. (But be warned, in store they are still £20 – the lowest price is only online)
Moving away from cushions and swiftly on to lighting, well what can I say but it is all Karen from makingspaces.net’s fault! She introduced , an brass and black metal task lamp from BHS a while back, and its beauty alongside the fact that my brother is called Ned had made me fall hook, line and sinker for it. She then had the nerve to tempt me even more with , an articulated floor lamp that has so much personality it looks like it could be the star character in an animated film. If that was not torture enough, Karen also mentioned Topcashback, which I had not heard of before, and before I knew it, I was pressing buy on both Ned (the floor lamp version) and Artie for something silly like £90-something for the two (minus £4.95 cashback).
I’m delaying the gratification by not having opened Artie yet, but here is Ned, standing tall and proud, in what may or may not be his final location.
Artie is destined for my home office space, whenever I get that organised, so I expect you will see him on here in due course. Neither Ned nor Artie are still in the BHS sale, but there are still plenty of lighting bargains to be had (and some pretty cool new ranges too).
That is the extent of my sale shopping, but while browsing in House of Fraser I spied these lovely vases by Willow and Grey that I may just have to go back for:
I hope you like my sale buys. What home furnishing bargains have you been tempted by? And the million dollar question: can you ever have too many cushions? (I’m thinking I may have just crossed that line!)
This is NOT a sponsored post, I’m just sharing my faves 🙂 and linking up with:

I could have spent a fortune this January on sale items for the home, I think it is a great time for getting new lighting and finishing touches.
Love that lamp.
Absolutely – and I am still seeing things I like! Trouble with January sales is you also spy what is coming in the new ranges, so the spending gets worse!
I *love* those tasseled cushions covers! I’m kind of glad I avoided the sales in a way, just because I’d have ended up spending so much money 😉 #HomeEtc

Great sale buys, Molly! The cushions are very Pantone, although I do like the grey ones too (grey and pink are lovely together). I’m amused at how Karen’s influenced your lamp buying!

She also influenced me in buying reproduction Eames chairs too – I swear Making Spaces should come with a warning ‘Reading this blog will be detrimental to your bank balance’ 🙂 Thanks for popping by x
You take that back!!
Haha. Maybe you’re right. You do seem to have purchased a few bits and bobs because of me and my nonsense. SORRY!
(I’m so not sorry).
Two fab floor lamps and an eiffel chair for just over £100. Can’t go wrong!
Great purchases all round me thinks!xx
I was only jesting – I am very grateful to you! i wonder what you will tempt me with next?

The lamp is gorgeous. No you can’t have too many cushions at all, no such thing ha! I have the pink H&M covers for a little bedroom makeover that I am planning, I didn’t realise they were in the sale, good work and great shopping xx
Oh lovely, I’ll look forward to seeing your makeover if you blog about it – glad I’m not alone with the cushion love 🙂

I always think you can never have enough cushions! We have so many that I just don’t know what to do with them all now, love your picks. I also recently had a bit of a love affair with pink and introduced it into our bedroom. I love Ned! #homeetc
Thank you! I’m calling it a day on cushions now … or for now should I say 😉

I don’t care about the other cushions — WHAT is the one in middle??? The blue one??! It reminds me of Tamara De Lempicka or Modigliani or something?! I LOVE IT!! Totally obsessed with that shade of pink too — still debating whether I should repaint my bedroom in Calamine. Clever old Pantone 🙂 Thanks for linking up with us lovely x #HomeEtc

The middle cushion is from H&M Home too – definitely a modernist art vibe there. It’s lovely and big too. Ooh, I look forward to knowing what you decide about your bathroom, but I think it is lovely with just your bath in Calamine xx

Some great buys Molly! Your bedroom looks lovely. I totally agree with you that reading Karen’s blog is DANGEROUS!
Thanks Stacey. I’m enjoying the cool colours of the bedroom now that there is a bit more light. I expect I’ll be buying more things inspired by Karen though – she has such good taste and eye for a bargain, the perfect combo!

Looks stunning and all so flaming. Love the colours and I am also thinking pink nowadays as it really does work doesn’t it?! Not too feminine but very chic. Thanks for sharing and for linking up! Jess xx

Thanks Jess, I’m a convert now to pink, who’d have thunk it? 😉

Home Furnishing Cushions, Lamps & Vases are fabulous. I loved the both pink and grey cushions and I am very much sure that they will bring a good appeal.
