Since Pantone announced its Colour of the Year 2016, Rose Quartz has really taken hold of the homeware buyers’ imaginations, much more so than its partner in crime, Blue Serenity (I’m expecting that to hit big in the summer). I’ve definitely been thinking pink, and this week I’ve been seeking out little touches of it to brighten up the kitchen and dining room for Easter.
So here are my top pink homeware picks from the High Street. First up blush pink (and then, in case you like your pink to pack more of a punch, some hot pink items to tickle your fancy will follow).
1. Sophie Conran for Portmeirion at TKMaxx; 2. , £4.00; 3. Marks and Spencer Core Pink Mug, £2.80 (normally £3.50); 4. Waitrose Pink Grapefruit Double Wick Votive, £4.00
TKMaxx is always my first stop for homewares, and they have in a fine selection of Sophie Conran for Portmeirion tablewares (1.) at the moment, at bargain prices. Then I spotted this gorgeous nibble bowl (2.) on the shelves of Waitrose – the photo does not do it justice, as you need to see from above to appreciate the patterning of the pink glass-like glaze, it looks very special for a bowl costing under a fiver (and there is a smaller one for £3.50). Waitrose also have a fab selection of pink grapefruit candles – a great fresh scent for a kitchen or dining room – and I especially like this one with a double wick in a geometric-patterned ceramic cup (4.). Marks and Spencer have gone all out on the blush pink, combining it with a soft grey in many of their table linens, and with cream for a collection of tableware called Core. This mug (3.) from the collection is currently on offer for only £2.80. Bargain blush!
If blush is a bit bleurgh for you and you want to turn up the heat on the pink, then opt for fuchsia pink with these pieces:
5. Zara Home Bamboo Bowl, £7.99; 6. Joules Dorrit Double Oven Glove, £14.95; 7. H&M Home Grapefruit Print Teatowel, £2.99; 8. Zara Home Fuchsia Egg Cup, £3.99
With a softer pink taking the spotlight, you’ll have to look a bit harder for hot pink items, but they are there, and Zara Home is the prime location. This Bamboo Bowl (1.) with its Schiaparelli pink interior certainly packs a punch. Joules can always be counted on for an injection of hot pink into homewares, and this double oven glove (6.) will liven up any kitchen, as will this bold grapefruit-patterned tea towel from H&M (7.). Back to Zara for the final item, this very cute pink eggcup (8.) – perfect for your boiled egg and soldiers on Easter morning!
Are you tempted to go pink this Easter? And which do you prefer, blush pink or hot pink? Let me know in the comments below, I’d love to hear!
The Zara egg cup is fab! I think that’s my favourite piece! I love TK Max for homeware too, there is always something lovely to buy.
Thanks Carly, that’s probably my faavourite too – It was the one that got me thinking of doing a pink post in the first place

Ah yes! I wonder do people with the surname Green like green? (and then there is Brown, White and Black?) How can you resist that teatowel at £2.99, go on! x
Hot pink all the way for moi. The bamboo bowl from Zara is ace!! Nice picks
xx
I’d never have guessed it 😉 Funny, I would have said blush pink for me, but seeing it against the hot pink here it just seems so wishy washy – pales into comparison, ha!

Lovely pink inspiration! I love pale petal pinks and coral pinks too, they look lovely with grey. I like the M&S mug very much! x
Thanks Antonia! I should have done a coral pink section – M&S have some lovely coral-painted chairs in too.

I actually really like pink, although there isn’t any in our home at the moment. I’m considering introducing some in the living room or middle bathroom (both grey) and I think a pop of pink would go really well- watch this space! x
Ooh, I will watch your space Becky! (Not pink with an avocado green suite though I hope? I couldn’t bear to look! 😉 )

I really wasn’t sure when I heard about their colours for this year but I really love blush pink now and think it’s a combination of feminine and sophisticated all in one. Love your high street picks, there are so many things out there for such a reasonable price X #HomeEtc
Thanks Lins. It’s definitely grown on me. Trouble with these prices though is that you just can’t say no, I’ve got to stop buying bowls! x

Some really fab choices. I really love the blush pink, it’s quite understated but still lovely. I really like the Sophie Conran bowl #HomeEtc
Thanks Emma. I didn’t note the price of the Sophie Conran items when I was in TKMaxx (should have done) but they were not dear. They had plates too which were very lovely.

Aah there’s some lovely inspiration here
I bought a blush pink saucer from Waitrose the other day and am using it as a ring dish — so pretty. I think the candle votive may be from the same range! Thanks so much for linking up with us
#HomeEtc
PS — have you received your gift card yet?

Thanks Caro. Some lovely pink things in Waitrose atm, I bet your saucer/ring dish is lovely. Haven’t received gift card yet (but no hurry!) Mx

Fuchsia is one of my absolute favourite colours and because it’s so vibrant my boys really like it too despite it being on the pink spectrum. I’ve never really been a fan of blush pink but it’s absolutely won me over, recently. It’s just the perfect pastel, isn’t it?
It’s funny isn’t it how our tastes change with the fashions, I’d never have thought myself a pink person before! Thanks Rachel x
