Elegant Bed Linen by Christy

As I was making my bed this morning, I realised that my taste in bed linen is exactly the same as my taste in clothes – I like very simple, clean lines but with some special detail, Cos clothes for example: nice crisp cotton, beautifully cut, with some small detail such as a twist or pleat that takes the garment from ordinary to extraordinary. It is this attention to simplicity, quality and extra-special detail that I also find in Christy bed linen.
For months now I’ve been loving my Christy Chantilly white set, but being the bed linen addict that I am, I was intrigued to see their latest all-white embroidered set, the Lillian. And oh my, it is gorgeous! Unlike the Chantilly, it is not embroidered all over, but in panels bordered by ladder stitching. It reminds me of antique French bed linen, but with the benefit of being brand new, and very white! I’m going to show you lots of close-up photos, so you can see the detail in all its glory.

The floral embroidery is so beautiful, with french knots and and delicate stitches making up the flowers. It’s just the right amount of detail to lift this all-white set to lofty heights of bedliciousness (that’s a made up word, but should be in the dictionary!).
I teamed the white of the Lillian against saffron-coloured pillow shams also from Christy, from their Loops range. These are more beautiful in the flesh than they appear online (I had thought they looked a bit heavy, but they are not at all, with a light cotton backing and fluffy padded ‘loops’). The mustard colour really allows Lillian’s white to shine even brighter, and together the pillows and cushions add extra zing, texture and interest.

I didn’t think I could love my bed any more than I did when adorned with Christy Chantilly bed linen, but I do! Christy have wowed me once again with this gorgeous Lillian set, which is now my new favourite (until the next time they bring out an embroidered white number that is! I sincerely hope it isn’t soon, I want to love this set for a long time).
I’ve another new addition to my bedroom too, but you cannot see it in these photos – you’ll have to tune in next week to find out!

Thanks Karen, and haha – I have no ways to teach, I just have no kiddios at home, and an unhealthy obsession with ironing my bedding, which you don’t want to have, it takes up too much time! x (oh, and I’ve done time working in hotels, so had training in doing ‘hospital corners’)

Gorgeous – I love plain, simple bedclothes too, they always feel so luxurious and elegant. Yours definitely look like this – love the saffron too, although they’re not a brand I’ve heard of so I’m off to find out more. It could be expensive! 🙂 #homeetc

Divine! I’ve just done my own blog post on their watercolour inspired range – but you have made me changed my heart. The crisp white with the little details is lush. I’d spend all day in that bed and refuse to get out.

I absolutely LOVE Christy home furnishings!! And I’m totally with you — white bedlinen for me all the way but I do like a little bit of embroidery, or detail, to stop it from looking too plain.
