Rustic Charm with Heart of House

I’m sitting here with the fire on, woollen throw over my knees, with candles lit and the warm tones of my wooden fireplace and furniture making me feel all cosy. I love this time of year, for its colours and textures, and slower pace. It’s a time for nesting, and my favourite time of year for thinking about seasonal interior styling.

, a new brand for on-trend furniture and home furnishings, certainly has its finger on the pulse of the season with its ‘Rustic Charm’ trend. It’s full of rich warm autumnal tones of russet and wine, with dark woods, leather and tweed adding texture and warmth – ideal now we’re entering the colder months.

Heart of House’s ‘Rustic Charm’ trend covers all areas of the home, not just the living room. Solid dining room furniture, elegant tableware, and copper accent pieces all make for an inviting room for the family to get together around the table – the heart of the house:

Or bring the trend into the bedroom with plush throws and berry-toned bedding – perfect for snuggling up on these longer nights.

But it is in the living room that I love this trend the best. I do have a thing for ‘gentlemen’s study’ interiors, which are both classic and timeless, and there are many items from Heart of House, which work wonderfully with this masculine (hunting, fishing and shooting) style.

Here are just a few of my favourites:

A rich leather studded armchair, tweed footstool, deep pile rug in cranberry shade, cable knit cushion, and an ironic white stag’s head wall decoration, all bring this trend bang up to date and make it work in any modern home.

I’m feeling all cosy just thinking about this trend (pass me my pipe and slippers 🙂 What do you think? Is this a trend that would work in your home?
