Simple Living with Heart of House
It doesn’t look like the Scandinavian trend is going to go anywhere fast (definitely not, as isn’t it all about slow living these days?). But even though the Scandi look is all about simplicity and a pared-back aesthetic, there is often nothing pared back about the cost of buying into this trend. Luckily for us, Heart of House, available exclusively at Argos (yes, you heard me right, Argos), have designed a collection called Simple Living, which delivers on both design and price.
Simple Living encapsulates Scandi-inspired, linear design for a more modern minimalist approach.
— Alexei Cowan Head of Trends at Home Retail Group
The range is conceived and designed by Heart of House and made in the UK, and its focus on simple living extends beyond looks to functionality – the furniture comes ready assembled, and curved corners make it family-friendly – no sharp corners for toddlers to come a cropper on. Great quality and a two-year guarantee too, for added peace of mind.
There are subtle shots of colour to bring the range alive, and use of modern techniques, such as laser-cutting, to add a freshness and contemporary feel.
There is furniture and accessories for all rooms in the house in the Simple Living Range, but my favourites are for the bedroom:
I like the curved corners of the Elford range of furniture, which comes in oak effect, black or white finishes – as you can see above, in oak it fits in with the Scandi theme of this bedroom, but in white those curved corners give the furniture an art-deco feel. So this furniture can work for a number of different interior schemes, or don’t be afraid to mix it up and see what works best for you.
I’ve put together my favourite pieces from the Heart of Home Simple Living range into a montage below, and links to their shopping page on the Argos site, in case you are tempted!
1. Heart of House Dorset Spindle Double Bed Frame – Oak (currently £199.99, was £319.99) 2. Heart of House Holt Deep Round Wall Mirror – Oak Effect £49.99 3. Heart of House Afina Clipped Duck Egg Bedding Set – Double. £39.99 4. Heart of House Hinto Laser Cut Pendant Shade – Grey (currently £14.99, was £17.99) 5. Heart of House Matt Satin Grey Bedspread £29.99
I’ve enjoyed exploring this range and choosing my favourites, I hope you like them too. Once again, good job Argos!

I would never have guessed it is from Argos. Nice to see they are selling what looks like quality furniture and not flat pack ! Great choices Molly. x
Me neither Karen. I do like the fact that it comes ready assembled, but without putting the price up for this.

I have been coveting thick quilted beadspreads like this recently A, but resisting in case it’s a sign of my age 🙂 This is nice though.

That headboard is just beautiful on the bed. I’m definitely a fan of Scandinavian-style everything, it matches my need to be clutterless. And Swedish potato salad is yummy too 😉 X
ooh, I don’t think I’ve ever had Swedish potato salad! I like the bedframe too and need to be clutterless – I don’t like beds that have storage underneath, always think you should have a good airflow all around you when you are sleeping, and this bed would definitely suit that.

What a lovely range — those Scandinavians really know how to style lovely interiors don’t they? I absolutely love that dining set, it’s gorgeous!! 🙂 I love the Scandi look — so simple but incredibly stylish. Thanks so much for sharing and linking up Molly #HomeEtc

Thanks for having me on #HomeEtc 🙂 I love the Scandi style too, but at the recent colour workshop I was at Karen Haller was saying that plenty of Scandinavian homes have lots of colour too – I guess that side just isn’t promoted 🙂

Love! This is SO my style and my heart likes this! Such a gorgeous style and yet simple 🙂 Jess xx #HomeEtc
Thanks Jess, glad you like 🙂 x
I’m glad the Scandi trend is here to stay, it’s so elegant and simplistic which is right up my street. The bedroom above would look lovely with a fitter wardrobe to keep the style simplistic. I love the minimalist feel the fitted furniture gives a space.
Thanks for stopping by June. This trend is right up my street too 🙂
